Anna Pirolli's Portfolio

Before coming to SJU, I knew I wanted to go into business. I did not know that Food Marketing was an actual major. In fact, when I was younger, I had joked around about being a Food Marketer because I liked food and thought it was funny. Little did I know it was a real major. For about 6 years, I had been taking pictures of my food. There was no real reason except for the fact I thought it was fun. It wasn't until I thought about posting them on Instagram that I decided to make something of it. I created a Foodgram and posted pictures of food. It started off as just that. I realized that I wanted to do more, so I started writing reviews for restaurants. At the time, it seemed original because Food Porn had not been a "thing" yet. I gained some traction from it. I would have restaurants DMing me asking me to work for them. Although I do not have millions of followers, I found it really rewarding when restaurants would thank me for the review or get a job offer. I have been using this as a means to differentiate myself from other business students.

Black Dragon Roll

This is a close-up shot of my favorite suchi roll. I got this from the Chinese and Japanese restaurant by my house called Mandarin Oriental.


I love to try new foods. When I was a Sophomore in High School, my Latin club took a trip to Greece. While there, I had a lot of foods I never thought I'd eat. One of which being octopus. I loved it! Each restaurant made it differently. When I got back to the states, I tried it at the Greek restaurant in Vorheese called the Green Olive. The Octopus was just as delicious as it was in Greece.

Shrimp Tempora Roll

This roll is something I do not get often. My mom ordere this a while ago and loved it. I do not normally like shrimp, but when I tried it, I thought it was delicious. There is something about sushi that makes food I'd not normally like delicious to me!


I do not remember the name of this appetizer. I remember I got this at The Bonefish Grill and it was really good.
